Other ways of entering into motivational speaker industry rather treading the path of media attention:
Translations available in: English (original) | Portuguese

Do you intend to make your career by sharing your experiences with enthusiastic audience? Would you like to make fat thousands of dollars per appearance, which usually includes about an hour or two of speaking and then rubbing shoulders with those attending your show? Would you like to be responsible for lifting people's spirits and showing them the right way to go? If the answer is yes, then you are the right person to make your career in motivation speaking. It’s a different field altogether unlike the routine eight hour long shift traditional jobs. It also delves deep into the realm of managing and stimulating emotions, rather than working with numbers or patterns. The speaking skills can be a complicated affair, since you should be able to communicate in a wonderful fashion at various junctures. So if you feel that you can turn a speaker and drive people's action, what are the chances you have to land here?

Share your passion

Motivational speakers are people who are capable, for one reason or another, of spreading around the positive message and making people and management consulting adapt a similar attitude. It cannot be called as a monotonous job doing similar things; however, what is important is that they energize people across them at any level. The one common thing which makes the difference in this domain is the passion you share. You audience are smart enough to understand phoniness, so preach what you practice rather than mere uttering words.

Doing things differently

We are all attracted to high achievers or to big dreamers. This means that if you have experiences from the edge of the world, metaphorically speaking, to share with others, you might well find a willing audience. This is not mean that you scale a high mountain peak or has an adventurous trip to North Pole. Overcoming an illness, helping those in need or taking your family down an unusual road might equally well qualify for inspiration for others.

Be in the media

It might not be the most sustainable way to join other professional motivational speakers or into leadership training, but it has proven helpful for many to just feature in the news or elsewhere in the media. It’s mandatory though we live abreast with the media happenings and it should not come a surprise for us. One good example of people getting media attention and thus making them a great speaker are the Chilean miners who got rescue from a long trap underground, seen sharing their experiences with people in packed halls .

Be a president first.

The most successful and impressive keynote speakers are the people who had successful career in the past. Typically speaking they were American presidents or people like sportsmen and astronauts or pop singers or so.
